The Challenge  Is BACK for 2009!

LAST FALL A NEW SERIES WAS LAUNCHED, WITH A NEW RACE FORMAT. MAXIMIZING TRACK TIME AND REDUCING THE OVERALL TIME SPENT AT THE RACE! 3 COMPLETE RACE ROUNDS WERE RUN LAST FALL, PRODUCING A DIFFERENT WINNER AT EACH EVENT! WE RAN UNDER ANY CONDITIONS - RAIN OR SHINE! THIS TEAM SERIES BRINGS THE DETAILED SCALE BACK INTO R/C RACING! COME FIELD A PORSCHE 911 GT3, PAINTED TO RESEMBLE A REAL PORSCHE RACER! LOW COST AND A RELAXED ATMOSPHERE!

Format

The Porsche GT3 Challenge is a team event (minimum 2 people and a maximum of 3 people) and consists of two 45min races. Starting positions for race 1 will be randomly selected and race 2 will start in the finishing order of race 1. At the next event, race 1 will have an inverted grid base on the results of the past races finishers (ala BTCC)!. New teams that have not participated in the last event will be randomly picked and slotted behind the existing entrants.

All race nights begin at 7:00 p.m for a practice warm-up, with race 1 starting at 7:30p.m. Some tracks may be set-up earlier for additional practice (check with host). There will be a 30 minute break between race 1 & 2. Trophies will be given out for top three teams at the end of each night.

Rules

Porsche GT3 Challenge

1. All Tamiya TA, TB and TL series sedan chassis' (TA01, TA02, TA03, TA04, TAO5, TAO5IFS, TL01, TB01, FF01, FF02, TTO1,TTO1E, TBO2, TB03).

2. Tub chassis only, no double deck chassis' allowed.

3. Tamiya Hop-Ups allowed, no chassis lightening allowed.

4. Tamiya Sport tuned black can 540 motors (Item#53068). "Silver Can" may be used.

5. Reedy Wolfpack 2400, Peak/ Orion 2400 batteries only

6. Tamiya rubber tires only.

7. Must use the Tamiya Porsche 911 GT3 body (Part#51336,51361). Please have bodies painted to resemble a real Porsche racecar.

8. Tamiya Light unit must be used and Headlights on during low light rounds. Because we run in the evening, lights must be used. A minimum of one headlight and one taillight must be on at all times during night sessions.

9. All battery changes or car repairs must be done in pit lane/ team pit area. NO REPAIRS ON TRACK!
