Darryl T 1/10 F-103M #84032. I’ve re-created the “Team Arrows” f-1 team livery circa 2001. Anyone who follows f-1 knows that Team Arrows didn’t fare so well against the powerhouse teams in f-1, but were mid pack contenders on a routine basis. I chose Team Arrows as my Paint scheme not for performance, but for great scale looks. I hope you enjoy looking at it, as much as I enjoy racing it.

Chritopher G Tamiya Super Clod Buster Kit #58321.  Typically I enjoy the build of a Tamiya r/c and then send it for shelf duty, however this time I built a Super Clod Buster to run at the local beach. I went for the "retro '80's monster truck" on this one. It's equipped with a retro suspension lift kit, front mounted servo, Tamiya gold oil dampers, Tamiya dual motor esc, Tamiya Sport Tuned motors, full bearings and a custom made clear windshield with Sand Scorcher Driver.  I also added headlights and bumper mounted fog lights. As it was originally intended the Clod is a bit slow but tremendous fun in the sand! Along with the build I also enjoy taking photos of the Tamiya models when completed. I actually had two photo sessions on the beach before I was satisfied. I hope you enjoy the photos.

SECOND PLACE WINNER 2011 Chritopher G 1/10 Custom XB 57807. Typically I enjoy the kits but received this RTR/XB as a gift from my wife. It has been fully rebuilt with a large list of option parts including the following: M-Chassis Shocks, Metal Plated Frame Set & Wheels (Black), Aluminum Front and Rear Uprights, Sport Tuned Motor & Aluminum Motor Mount, Graphite Shock Towers / Receiver / ESC Trays, Full Ball Bearings and more! Again, I enjoyed rebuilding the kit and taking the photos although, I have found that taking photos of my Monster Trucks comes a lot easier. It must be the size/scale difference.

Kevin M 1/10 Tamiya Blackfoot Extreme "This is my one-of-a-kind Tamiya Blackfoot Extreme. As you can see the truck has been modified from the standard cab short box into this monstrous crew cab dually 4x4! It took two Blackfoot bodies, Big Bear fenders and lots of sheet styrene to pull it all together. The truck is 4 wheel drive with both axles being TLT’s. The front TLT axle was narrowed to better fit with the proportions of the Blackfoot body. The electronics consist of a TEU-101BK ESC sending power to a Tamiya silver can motor working in harmony with a Tamiya radio.

I’m happy with the way this one turned out but I can’t leave it at that. There are two other versions of dually’s I’m itching to build and both will be based off Blackfoots. Both trucks will be Tamiya through and through".

FIRST PLACE WINNER 2011 - Derek S 1/10 Tamiya CC-01 Jeep Wrangler YJ. "My CC-01 Jeep Wrangler YJ is a re-release kit. I’ve always wanted one of these and just like the Sand Scorcher I bought one as soon as they were re-released. This Jeep has a 3 channel radio with a standard servo, a TEU-101BK ESC, and headlights with taillights. I painted this body and used actual 1995 Jeep Wrangler Blue metallic paint that I bought from an auto body supplier. I made a custom skid plate from roofing tin to fit under the front bumper all the way back to the transfer case. And it works quite well. I purchased some 1.9” Steel Wheels Black Edition and some 1.9” Dirt grabbers".

Jason B 1/35 Scale Leclerc 35279 "The kit was a pleasure to build and has a variety of scratch built additions and aftermarket enhancements. It is finished as a French Leclerc deployed to Lebanon with UNIFIL in 2006".

THIRD PLACE WINNER 2011 Craig B 1/35 #35146 German Tiger I Tank Late Version

Henry C 1/10 Tamiya F-350 High Lift Kit #58372.

Derek S 1/10 Tamiya Clod Buster. "This is an original issue of the Tamiya Clodbuster. This was my first hobby grade RC. It was a gift for my 8th birthday from my Dad. My Dad was the 3rd owner and he bought the Clodbuster from his friend that was the original owner, who once gave the Clodbuster to his son. Even though this Clodbuster was originaly in the USA, I still have contact with the original owners. It has stock silver can motors, and a MSC with the dual servo set up with an old school Airtronics radio. I also had someone make me a custom metal tube roll cage body so I would not ruin the Chevy truck body. I do need to update the electronics one day".

Derek S 1/10 Tamiya Lunchbox / Midnight Pumpkin. "My Tamiya Lunchbox is originally a first edition Midnight Pumpkin converted to a Lunchbox. It has been updated with a TEU-101BK ESC, with a standard steering servo".

Derek S 1/10 Tamiya F-350 High Lift. "The Tamiya F-350 Highlift was my first brand new Bought RC. It has aftermarket drive shafts with metal yokes, the stock silver can motor; an aftermarket ESC and a full metal sealed bearing kit. I also changed the location of the battery to between the frame rails. This truck was one of the test vehicles for RC4WD’s Soft Red Leaf Springs. The body was painted in a paint booth with 1999 Dodge Caravan 15th Anniversary Metallic flake grey paint. The paint and body work costs more than the price of the kit. So this kit stays on the shelf most of the time".

Derek S 1/10 Tamiya Toyota High Lift. "I bought this truck used. I then fitted some aftermarket Crazy Crawler 1.9” tires. The body was originally painted red primer with a grey primer fender and a black primer hood. I then filled a few body holes and repainted the body a beige/yellow, with a glossy black hood and a grey fender with a blue driver’s door and tailgate. I wanted to get the “beat up trail truck look”. I then did a body drop and added a full metal sealed bearing kit. I bought some aftermarket drive shafts with metal yokes, changed the battery location from under the frame to between the frame rails. The truck also has full lights. The other thing I added to the truck was I made a custom snow plow that lifts and lowers with the help of a 3 racing scale winch that is mounded under the hood".

Derek S 1/10 Tamiya Sand Scorcher. "My tamiya Sand Scorcher is a re-release kit. I bought it brand new as soon as it was re-released since I’ve always wanted one. I managed to fit a 7.2V stick pack battery in the electronics box. I also modified the steering to eliminate the steering slop. I then purchased a Parma body modeled after a Sand Scorcher for when I drive the car. I will paint the tamiya ABS body later this summer, since I have a great paint theme planed. I also cut the tire mold lines with a hobby knife to make it as scale as possible, that took about 4 hours. I also painted the letters on the tires, which have now faded so I will have to re-paint them. The most resent modification I have done to the Sand Scorcher is a RC4WD Scale Tube Front Bumper. I find it adds even more to the scale look".
