84192 1/10 McLaren MP4/5B Honda
(F104W)
In 1989 F1 banned turbocharged
engines. Despite this, the
McLaren Racing Team continued to
dominate the sport. For the 1990
season, McLaren entered the
MP4/5B, an advanced version of
the 1989 title-winning MP4/5.
This car received extensive
refinements to improve internal
airflow and overall
aerodynamics, which led to the
development of a more contoured
body. It was powered by Honda's
RA100E 3.5 liter, V10 engine and
had a six-speed transmission
which was transversely mounted
in front of the rear axle. The
1990 season ended with 1988
World Champion Ayrton Senna
reclaiming his World
Championship title with 6 GP
victories for McLaren
