2007 TAMIYA CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES

DRIVER ELIGIBILITY  

1. "Factory Team" drivers (drivers who are, or have ever been, employed or supported by a factory, manufacturer or distributor as part of a factory racing team, this includes sponsorship that entails monthly salary and/ or paid airfare or accommodations to racing events are not allowed to compete for prizes or awards.  

RULES

1. Tamiya parts only. No parts from other manufacturers unless specified here.

2. Any manufacturer's electronic speed control, radio equipment, servo saver, antenna, antenna mount, pinion and spur gears, spur gear adapter, ball bearings are allowed in all classes.

3. A 27 MHz, 75 MHz, Spec or DSM radio system must be used. A minimum of 2 frequencies are required for use at the events, unless you are using digital.

4. Any Tamiya Hop-Op Option and/ or spare part is allowed as long as it is used in the way it was designed, and on the vehicle it was designed for. Except for the GT1 class, it is strictly forbidden to cut, mill or lighten the chassis. It is strictly forbidden to re-engineer or modify the cars in any way other than with Tamiya Hop-Ups.

5. All bodies must be painted and must be cut along the trim lines. No extra vents or holes may be added to the body. Nitro car bodies may have any sized holes cut for cooling.

6. Any motor connector or direct hard wiring to the motor is allowed.

7. Any battery connector or direct hard wiring to the battery is allowed.

8. Tire conditioners are allowed on rubber tires in all classes, but may be restricted at certain venues.

9. All bodies must use the wings that are supplied in the kit. Mixing and matching wings between different bodies is not allowed. In the GT-1, GT-2 and GT-3 classes only, part number 53470 (lightweight wing set) can to be used for any sedan or sports car body.

10. Lightweight screws that are made of aluminum, steel or Titanium that are made by other manufacturers are allowed. i.e. Any screw is legal.

11. The use of thin shims (available at most hobby stores and now made available by Tamiya) to space out the slop or play in suspension arms, steering bell-cranks and wheel axles is now permitted in all vehicles except in the spec class. Shimming the aforementioned components of the car in a way that alters the geometry of the car or its basic geometry design is not legal.

12. The use of O-Rings on shock ball ends and camber/steering links is allowed.

13. You may use any 6-cell Panasonic, Sanyo, GP, IB, and IP battery pack of 4300mah capacity or less. (Batteries must be ROAR, IFMAR, NORCA, i.e. Peak, Orion, Reedy, Pole Position, etc… approved and in original cell shrink). Unmarked cells are not allowed. (Spec battery for the Mini, GT2, F103GT, and Group C)

14. All races are 5mins.

GT1 SUPER TOURING

1. All Tamiya TA, TB, 414 and TL series sedan chassis (TA01, TA02, TA03, TA04, TA-05, TL01, TB01, TB-02, TB-02R, TB Evo 1,2,3,4,5, MS, FF01, FF02, 414M, 414MII & 415, 415MS, 415MSX,415MSXME)

2. Tamiya Hop-Ups only and chassis lightening allowed.

3. Tamiya rubber tires, inserts, and wheels only.

4. Countersinking carbon fibre plate parts is permitted only in this class.

5. All parts that are intended for the EVO III may be used for the TB-02 as option Hop Ups.

6. Aluminium suspension blocks from the EVO III/IV/TRF415 can be used for the TA-05 platform.

7. Spec 19Turn Peak Dynasty or Team Orion 19 Turn Element Motors only in the GT1 class. Any bushes or motor springs can be used. V2 end bell is allowed as long as they have a locking tab.

8. Any 7.2V 6-cell battery pack is allowed up to 4300mah. Hobby type battery packs such as Team Orion, Peak Racing, Trinity, and Reedy. So any stick or side-by-side cells. New for 2007! The Peak Racing and Team Orion Race Spec 3200mah Li-Po batteries are allowed.

9. Tamiya Subaru Legacy bodies are allowed in the GT1 class only.

10. Batteries may be taped in or clamped in by the supplied Tamiya holder. Leaving out the Tamiya plastic battery holder is legal.  

GT2 TOURING  

1. All Tamiya TA, TB and TL series sedan chassis' (TA01, TA02, TA03, TA04, TAO5, TL01, TB01, FF01, FF02, TTO1, TBO2).

2. Tub chassis only, no double deck chassis' allowed.

3. Tamiya Hop-Ups allowed, no chassis lightening allowed.

4. Tamiya Sport tuned black can 540 motors (Item#53068). "Silver Can" may be used.

5. Peak Racing 2400mha spec battery must be used (item# PEK4110)

6. Tamiya rubber tires only.

7. Approved bodies for 2007: SC430, FXX, Porsche Carrera GT, Supra, Any Skyline, 350Z, Integra, Any Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Opel DTM/ Touring car bodies. Pretty much everything except the NSX, Ferrari 430 and 360 bodies.

8. Batteries may be taped in or clamped in by the supplied Tamiya holder. Leaving out the Tamiya plastic battery holder is legal.

9. A maximum gear ratio will be set. This is not a fixed ratio, but the limit; the cars can be geared at. You can gear the car down if you choose.  (Max ratio is a 5.7)  

MINI SPORTS

1. Any Tamiya "M" chassis car (M01, M02, M02-L, M03, MO3M, M04L, MO4M).

2. Tamiya Hop-Ups allowed, no chassis lightening allowed.  

3. Kit type closed-end bell, silver can motor only. Motors must not perform better that a 1.3amp draw at 2volts on a Peak or Orion Motor Performance Monitor. Motors will be checked throughout the race day. This is being done to tighten up the racing and encourage new racers to join this low cost type of racing!

4. Peak Racing 2400mha spec battery must be used (item# PEK4110)

5. M04 may be shortened from "long" to "medium" length, when doing so, only 60D tires and medium length bodies (Eunos Roadster and Alfa Romeo GTA) can be used.

6. 26mm tires ONLY for cars featuring S2000, BMW M Roadster, 911, Boxster, SLK bodies.

7. Tamiya rubber tires only, no foam tires.

8. Porsche Boxster, Porsche 911, Mercedes SLK, BMW M Roadster and Honda S2000 may not run extra wide or offset wheels.

9. Pinion gears must follow this chart: MO3 20T pinion, MO4L with 26mm tires 17T pinion, MO4m with 60D tires 19T pinion. MO1/MO2 cars with 60D tires must use 20T pinion and a 16T pinion with 26mm tires. RWD MO2 must use an 18T pinion gear with 60D tires.

10. Chassis drive must follow the type of body that you are using. (i.e. No RWD Mini Coopers)

11. No wings are allowed. (Other than wing supplied in the Swift kit on the Swift body)

12. Batteries may be taped in, in lieu of using the supplied battery holder.  

F103 GT

1. F103GT chassis only.

2. 540 Silver Can motors only.

3. Any Tamiya Touring car rubber tires only. (24 or 26mm width)

4. Any F103 or F103GT hop-ups.

5. Any Sports Car bodies that raced at LeMans are eligible.

6. Peak Racing 2400mha spec battery must be used (Item# PEK4110)

7. Any manufacturer's lightweight screws.  

GROUP C Leman (Canada Class only)

1. Any of the Tamiya Group C chassis' (Pan type car with plastic bathtub/space frame chassis).

2. Ferrari F40 body may be used but must carry some team livery.

3. Tamiya Sport Tuned black can motor only. (Item # 53068)

4. Kit type Foam tires only.

5. Any Tamiya Oiled Filled Shock and Tamiya spring maybe used for rear suspension.

6. Tamiya optional front suspension coil springs allowed.

7. Spur gears can be either the kit types 48 Pitch, 70T spur or the Tamiya Hop-Up option 93T & 104T, Tamiya 64 Pitch gears. (Item #53104)

8. Any manufacturers pinion gear.

9. Titanium rear axle may be used. (Item #53396 Ti axle)

10. All bushings and bearings can be replaced by any manufacturers bearings.

11. Any manufacturers lightweight screws.

12. Peak Racing 2400mha spec battery must be used (Item# PEK4110)  

RALLY WRC (Canada Class only)

1. The following Tamiya chassis's are eligibility. (TAO3, TTO1, TLO1, TBO1 and FF02)

2. Must use a tub type chassis. Double deck chassis' are not allowed.

3. Only Tamiya Bodies that are representative of World Rally competition may be used.

4. Only 540 Silver Can motors can be used for the 2007 season.

5. Any Tamiya Hop-Up may be used as long as it is used for the chassis it was designed for.

6. The following tires are legal for this class: 50419 Racing Radial Tire, 50810 racing semi slick and 50476 Rally Block. No other tire may be used.

7. Any 7.2V 6-cell battery pack is allowed up to 4300mah. Hobby type battery packs such as Team Orion, Peak Racing, Trinity, and Reedy. So any stick or side-by-side cells. New for 2007!

TG10 GT (Canada Class only)

1. Tamiya TG10 Mk.2, TG10R, TGS, TGSR, and TG10 Mk.1 chassis.

2. .12 size engines from any manufacturer.

3. Can use any header and tuned pipe combination.

4. Any Tamiya Hop-Ups are allowed.

5. RACY Hop-Ups allowed.

6. Any type of SPEEDMIND foam tires. You can also use Tamiya Rubber tires if you choose.

7. Tamiya bodies only.
